The King John Inn is situated in the idyllic village of Tollard Royal on the WiltshireDorset border.Named after one of King John's hunting lodges, this Victorian building was opened in 1859. Rescued from near dereliction in 2008 the pub has been comprehensively refurbished. The modern country style interior features quarry tile flooring and open fire places. The menu offers a choice of delicious lunchtime and evening meals with daily changes. There is a fine selection of imported draught and local beers available which change weekly. You can choose to eat in the open plan pub or in the informal restaurant. An extensive and detailed wine list offers an eclectic selection devoted largely to organic and biodynamic names. A wide range of wines and champagnes are available by the glass and there is an interesting bin end list. All the wine on the list are available to purchase in the wine shop.Well-behaved children are most welcome at lunch times. Clean dogs are welcome in the pub on leads and in the bedrooms by prior arrangement (although not left unattended in the rooms).All bedrooms have luxurious en-suite bathrooms and toiletries by Pecksniff's. The latest flat screen digital television , direct dial telephone and wi-fi connection.

Directions
From Salisbury:Take the A354 towards Blandford Forum and turn right where signposted to Farnham. Rather than turning left into Farnham village, continue straight on until you come to a T-junction. Bear left and you will come into Tollard Royal. The King John is at the far end of the village, on the right.From Shaftesbury:Take the A30 towards Salisbury and take the B3081 on the right. Keep left in the first village and follow the B3081 up Zigzag Hill (not recommended on snow or ice) and continue until you reach Tollard Royall. The pub is on the left as you enter the village.
